'A rave broke out': Alumni, fans reflect on 15 years of South Carolina's Sandstorm tradition

Fifteen years ago, South Carolina's tradition of playing "Sandstorm" at sporting events was born when the Gamecock football team earned an upset win over then-No. 4 Ole Miss. As the Rebels travel to Columbia for the first time since then, USC alumni and employees from that time tell their stories from that September night as well as the history and legacy of the song as a Gamecock tradition.

On a March afternoon in 2015, South Carolina found itself cutting down the nets at First Horizon Coliseum (then called simply the Greensboro Coliseum) in Greensboro, North Carolina. The program had just clinched its first trip to the Final Four of the NCAA Tournament in program history.
